Lift Every Voice

New to the regional conference format in 2020 will be the “Lift Every Voice” series. This series will feature the work of choirs as an extension of the rehearsal hall and performance stage, highlighting those who use the choral art as an avenue of addressing other topics in communities throughout the Southern Region. Community service, social justice, memory care, prison choirs, and campus leadership and mentorship programs are just a few of the areas in which choral music plays a role in bridging communities through song.

One Lift Every Voice presenter will be chosen from each state through an application review process. They will be asked to submit a narrative describing their choir’s activities along with pictures representing their work.

A poster display using the application materials will be printed for each selected group, and this poster will remain on display throughout the conference. A representative from each chosen organization will be asked to be on hand during a selected hour in the conference schedule so that other ACDA members might ask questions about their work.

Each Southern Region State President and Executive Board is tasked with selecting a choral organization from each state to represent the “Lift Every Voice” initiative at conference. Please contact your state president for more information.
